Civil Engineering
Our Capabilities
We deliver a broad range of civil engineering packages across critical infrastructure programmes in the southern half of England. Our capabilities span the full scope of subcontract civil works required on water, wastewater and wider infrastructure schemes.
Earthworks
Bulk excavation, cut and fill, embankment construction, topsoil strip and reinstatement. We manage earthworks programmes with careful attention to ground conditions, programme sequencing and environmental controls — including works in sensitive operational environments.
Our earthworks capability covers everything from site preparation and formation levels through to finished grading and reinstatement. We work closely with geotechnical advisors and principal contractors to manage risk and maintain programme.
Drainage
Surface water and foul drainage systems, including gravity sewers, rising mains, inspection chambers, headwalls and outfalls. We have experience across a range of pipe materials and installation methods, including open-cut and confined-space working.
Drainage works on infrastructure sites require careful coordination with other packages and a thorough understanding of the operational context. We bring the experience and discipline to deliver drainage reliably and to the required standard.
Reinforced Concrete Structures
In-situ reinforced concrete structures including bases, walls, slabs, pits, chambers and retaining structures. We have experience delivering RC works to exacting tolerances within operational water and wastewater facilities.
Reinforced concrete is central to much of the infrastructure we work on. Our teams are experienced in formwork, reinforcement fixing and concrete placement in constrained and operationally sensitive environments.
Foundations & Bases
Concrete foundations and equipment bases for mechanical and electrical plant, pumping stations, kiosks and associated infrastructure. We work to the tolerances required by equipment suppliers and principal contractors.
Accurate, well-constructed bases are critical to the performance of the plant and equipment they support. We understand the interface requirements and deliver foundations that meet the specification first time.
Ducting & Chambers
Cable ducting routes, draw pits and cable chambers supporting electrical, instrumentation and control infrastructure. We install ducting systems to the standards required on regulated infrastructure sites.
Ducting and chamber works are often critical-path activities on infrastructure programmes. We plan and deliver these packages with the coordination and precision required to keep the wider programme on track.
Pipelines
Above and below-ground pipework including process pipelines, interconnecting pipework and associated valves, fittings and supports. We have experience working on live and operational sites where isolation, hygiene and safety controls are paramount.
Pipeline works within operational water and wastewater facilities demand a disciplined approach to planning, safety and quality. We understand the additional controls required and apply them consistently.
External Works
Site roads, hardstandings, fencing, gates, kerbing, paving and associated external infrastructure. We deliver external works packages that are practical, durable and appropriate to the operational environment.
External works are often the final visible element of an infrastructure project. We take the same care with external works as with structural and process packages — delivering finished sites that function well and look right.
Associated Infrastructure
Ancillary civil works supporting the wider infrastructure programme — including temporary works, access, welfare facilities, site establishment and demobilisation. We support principal contractors with the full range of civil subcontract requirements.
Successful infrastructure delivery depends on getting the supporting works right. We provide the civil engineering resource and management capability to support principal contractors from mobilisation through to handover.
Sector Focus
Water & Wastewater Sector
A significant proportion of our work is within the regulated water and wastewater sector — on assets operated by water companies and their framework contractors. This includes works at treatment works, pumping stations, reservoirs and network infrastructure, often within live and operational environments.
Working within operational water assets requires more than technical competence. It demands an understanding of the regulatory environment, the operational constraints, and the additional safety, quality and environmental controls that apply. We have built our business around this understanding.
- Experience working within live and operational water and wastewater assets
- Understanding of the regulatory and operational environment
- Appropriate accreditations and management systems
- Disciplined approach to safety, quality and environmental management
